Platform Responses to Misinformation: A Meta-Analysis of Data

Digital misinformation is a critical issue affecting the global information environment. Countering misinformation and its effects is a major objective of governments, international organizations, concerned citizens and technology firms. This Synthesis Report examines the effectiveness of countermeasures against misinformation on social media platforms, focusing on the two most examined remedies: content labeling and corrective information interventions. Read this meta-analysis of 43 studies from 18 peer-reviewed manuscripts selected from a comprehensive database of 4,798 publications.
