Dr. Celeste Campos-Castillo is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Media and Information at Michigan State University. Her research examines how information and communication technologies may widen or narrow existing health inequalities, with a focus on how outcomes are dependent on how well the design and implementation addresses digital divides, trustworthiness concerns, and privacy concerns. The inequalities she examines are those along ethnoracial lines and gender, particularly among high school aged adolescents and older adults. She is a methodologist and uses a range of research methods, including experiments, surveys, archives, interviews, and focus groups. She received a PhD in Sociology from the University of Iowa in 2012 and from 2012 to 2014 she was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Institute for Security, Technology, and Society at Dartmouth College.
