Rod Abhari, PhD, is a research integrity professional and Consulting Scientist with the IPIE's ScientificPanel on Information Integrity about Climate Science. Working at the intersection of Science and Technology Studies and Science of Science, Dr. Abhari uses historical, computational, and experimental methods to improve communication between scientific and public actors. He also convened the Harvard Radcliffe seminar on Online Civic Trust in Climate Science and is a founding member of Taking Action on Civic Trust in Climate Science (TACT-CS).

Dr. Abhari completed his PhD in Media, Technology, and Society at Northwestern University, where he worked with Dr. Nathan Walter at the Center for Media Psychology and Social Influence (COM-PSI) and Dr. Emőke-Ágnes Horvát at the Lab on Innovation, Networks and Knowledge (LINK). His dissertation documented how conservative political pundits invoke scientific retractions to affect support for politicized issues and demonstrated how these tactics erode public trust in science and constrain scientific autonomy. His research has been covered in outlets including Nature Human Behaviour, STAT News, and CBC.

Dr. Abhari holds an MA in Science and Technology Studies from Maastricht University, an MA in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a BA from Middlebury College.
