Dr. Selcan Kaynak is a Researcher at the Trauma and Stress Lab at the Psychology Department at Koç University in Istanbul. Previously, she has served as an Associate Prof. and Chair at the Department of Political Science & International Relations at Bogazici University.  Her research and teaching focus on media systems and socio-political change, and political psychology. She has published on Turkey's public diplomacy, media and politics in Turkey, and voting behaviour of Euro-Turks. She has served as the President of the International Communication Section of the International Studies Association and on the Executive Committee of the Information Technology and Politics Section of the American Political Science Association.  Her recent research interests address forced migration, global mental health and intervention programs. She is also interested in public perception of mental health problems, women's health and access to resources, and effective mental health policy.  Dr. Kaynak received her PhD in Communications from Temple University and her BA in Political Science from Bogazici University. She has an MA in Clinical Psychology from Bilgi University (Istanbul) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at Koç University (Istanbul).
