Laura K. Nelson is an associate professor of sociology at the University of British Columbia, where she is also the director of the Centre for Computational Social Science. She uses computational methods, including their intersection with qualitative methods, to study organizations, institutions, social movements, and gender. She has published in the American Sociological Review, the American Journal of Sociology, Sociological Methods & Research, and Gender & Society, among other outlets.
