Dr. van den Bos is an Associate Professor at the Developmental Psychology Department of the University of Amsterdam, Director of the Connected Minds Lab, and Adjunct Research Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. Dr. van den Bos holds an M.A. in philosophy and a M.Sc. in Cognitive Neuroscience. He has a broad background in both neuroscience and developmental psychology, and his lab investigates the relation between the developing brain and changes in behavior. In his current research, he focuses on how social media impacts adolescents, both in terms of affective and mood, as well as belief and identity formation. To approach these questions, he uses computational models, social network analyses, and methods from experimental economics. Dr. van den Bos' work is funded by the Nederlands organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO), European Research Council (ERC), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Amsterdam Center for Brain and Cognition (ABC) and the Jacobs Foundation.
